flower bullet point  Apple Peeler Slicer

Apple Peeler Slicer

I have been canning my own cinnamon apple slices for over 8 years. My children love them right out of the jar! By canning my own, I do not have to worry about preservatives, additives or any strange ingredients. I know what is in my food! Hand peeling, cutting and coring boxes of apples is not my idea of a fun time. I would never do the numerous quart jars of apples if I had to do it by hand. I think my hands would give out before the second batch would be ready for the canner.

This apple slicer is the way to go. Even if you do not do the amount of volume I do, this non-electric machine is a great tool to have in your kitchen. It makes quick work of apple pie slices, homemade applesauce, and apples for turnovers and tarts.

Watch the video to see how easy it is to turn your apples into a pie tonight!

It can also peel potatoes, but I have never used it for that. It cores, peels and thinly slices your apples all in one motion. It probably takes 10 seconds to do one apple. You cannot do it faster than that. I know a lady who pulls the apple slicer out when her grand children come over. She uses this as a big treat for them to be able to slice and core their own apple to eat! She has told me that every time they come over now, they want to use the apple machine! What a great way to get your children or grand children to eat a healthy snack and have a fun time doing it!

I started having difficulty getting my apple to start slicing and peeling. My son came up with a solution. He said the apple skins were too slick ( if they come from the grocery store they usually have a wax coating). He cut the end off the apple about 1/4" and placed the cut end facing the peeler. That gave the apple slicer something to grab onto and has worked for me ever since. I have been very pleased with the performance of this little apple slicer/peeler!
